Why We Share

The Share Shop is a “library of things” — a place for members to borrow useful, infrequently used items like tools, camping gear, cooking, and crafting equipment.

We help people own less and live more.

Sharing is not a novel concept, however it is unique in our modern society where  capitalism is the primary economic model; private ownership and control of property drives demand and supply.

The Share Shop’s model of collaborative consumption helps disrupt the status quo and introduces circular economy principles into an everyday context. Sharing, or reusing, and repairing things as much as possible not only saves money but keeps them from landfill for as long as possible.

This is how we help people to:

Spend less on things they don’t need
Save space in the home
Cut waste to landfill

How It Works

To borrow from The Share Shop you will need to become a member by joining up online or in person.

When you want to borrow a thing you can reserve it ahead of time through our online system and then pick it up when we are open. You can also borrow available items without placing a reservation, but it’s best to book to avoid disappointment.

Most things can be borrowed for up to 14 days. Before you bring things back clean them and check all the parts are there for the next borrower!

Membership is $15 for 3 months or $52 for 12 months.
